UPDATE: We’re just $469 away from meeting our goal and getting Unit 44 in comic shops worldwide!
Back in 2014 I created a silly sci-fi/comedy comic book with the amazingly talented artist Ed! Jiménez called Unit 44, a ridiculous four-part series about inept Area 51 employees that forget to pay the rent of the facility’s off-site storage unit, leaving the secret contents to be sold at public auction. And when an alien invasion threatens earth, the agents must recover an item from the locker to stop the extraterrestrial threat.
Our publisher, Alterna Comics, not content with only a digital release asked if we’d like to bring the Unit 44 trade paperback to comic book shops worldwide. Of course we said yes.
So now it’s official… Unit 44 will be available to comic book shops, book stores and libraries in August 2017! How cool is that?
Of course, in the world of indie comics, you have to work hard and hustle, so if we want to meet the monumental (life long) goal, we have to fund the initial print run ourselves. To help facilitate that step, we’ve turned to Kickstarter where YOU can pre-order the 100+ page volume one graphic novel and in the process, help ensure it’s available to all these comic shops.
