Sometimes with a New Year, you’re ready for them to just end so that you can move on with life, but man…2013 is ending on such a high note that I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring my way.
Over the weekend, I finished lettering the first issue of my upcoming sci-fi/comedy comic book, UNIT 44!
This crazy, irreverent romp through storage units and government conspiracies was written in late 2012 and began coming to life in May of this year with the assistance of talent illustrator Eduardo Jimenez. In August/September we Kickstarted the book (twice) and at this point we’re so close to having the physical copies in our hands.
More than 100 people pre-ordered the book through Kickstarter, but what else can we do with the book? It will soon begin making the rounds to some very specific publishers to see if there’s any interest, but I’m fully prepared to self-publish this book if necessary. If you supported our Kickstarter campaign, you’ll be getting to lay your eyes on this very soon, but if not, know that it may be available for purchase as soon as next month, or six months from now depending on how the crazy world of comic books decides to treat it.
In either case, stay tuned, because Ed and I have created something really special (I think all creators say that) and know that we’re very excited to be sharing it with you soon!
